Azenor Communications is founded by Kiri Harbottle, a chartered PR practitioner with over 20 years’ experience in the healthcare and not-for-profit sectors.

Kiri has a proven track record in leading NHS communications and engagement teams and projects on a local, regional and national footprint.

A strategic thinker, she advises Boards and leads programmes to deliver impactful communications and engagement, using collaboration as a catalyst for transformation.

Prior to joining the NHS, Kiri led the marketing communications for a national, not-for-profit trade association with a focus on member engagement, brand management, media and PR.

Having grown up in Cornwall, Kiri is now Midlands-based, living near Stratford-upon-Avon with her family.

Kiri’s childhood in Cornwall, near the village of Budock, inspired the name of Azenor Communications.

A 6th century Breton princess, Azenor was falsely accused of adultery then cast into the sea in a cask whilst pregnant, where she gave birth to her son Budock.

According to Cornish folklore, she and her baby washed up in Zennor, subsequently founding the settlement. There she is associated with the Cornish Saint Senara, the mermaid saint.

Azenor’s name means light and honour and her story is one of truth, hope and resilience through change - all values which resonate with purpose-led communications.
